ZANU PF’s Bulawayo province has embarked on a mass mobilisation exercise, targeting the youth as the ruling party seeks to bolster its grassroots support.
The party’s Bulawayo district co-ordinating committee (DCC 2) recently hosted a fishers of man celebration at its Magwegwe sub-office as part of its broader youth recruitment strategy.
The event, themed Youth Mobilisation, drew party leaders and recruits in what officials said underscored Zanu PF’s push to reinvigorate its structures ahead of the next national plebiscite.
Provincial secretary for finance and economic development, Menziwa Dube, stressed the pivotal role of young members in securing a Zanu PF victory in future elections.
“The youth are the backbone of this party. Divided we fall, united we stand,” he said.
DCC 2 youth affairs officer Sakhile Nkomo said the fishers of man programme was a key pillar of Zanu PF’s youth outreach.
“Our leadership’s active engagement gives youth a tangible platform to grow,” Nkomo said.
“This mentorship is crucial for the party’s sustainability.”
