CHICKEN Inn are looking forward to a first win to spur them on in the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season as they host Herentals at Luveve Stadium this afternoon.
The GameCocks are winless in their first four games of the season, playing three draws, two goalless against Bikita Minerals at home and away to Yadah at the Heart Stadium.
They played to a 1-1 draw with FC Platinum at Luveve with their goal coming from Brian Muza, the only goal they have scored on four matches.
Coach Joey Antipas reckons it will not be an easy game against The Students, whom he believes have a good side.
“It’s a very tricky fixture again with Herentals. They are a very good squad and had a very good season last year and a good finish on the log and we have a game on our hands,” he said.
“We are playing at home and we have to make use of the home advantage like other teams do when they play at home.
“We have been a bit unfortunate in the games that we have played. Some of the games, we should have won, but we ended up with draws and the defeat against ZPC Kariba, we had half a chance and they killed us.”
The 2015 championship-winning coach admits lack of fire power in his lads and says a win today might give them the confidence going ahead.

“So we are looking for better fortunes and we are hoping to come up good with our first win of the season,” Antipas said.
“But it will not be easy. We will have to fight and give 100% for every player and if we can do that, we have better things ahead of us.
“We are struggling in attack because chances are being created. We just have to polish up, give the guys confidence to come up with a good result.”
Chicken Inn boast Muza, Michael Charamba, who had a good season last year, Brighton Makopa, Domic Jaricha and George Majika who could spell disaster for Herentals.
The Students have also won just one game against TelOne in four outings.
As they travel down to Bulawayo for Chicken Inn, they have in mind that they lost one to reigning champions Simba Bhora and played two draws against Dynamos and Manica Diamonds
