Plumtree man dies in scotch cart accident

Dube said the accident occurred on Monday at around 9am on an unnamed dust road in the Tshemahali area, Madlambuzi.

A 28-YEAR-OLD man from Tshemahali village, Madlambuzi in Plumtree has died after a donkey-drawn scotch cart he was travelling on hit a tree and overturned.

Matabeleland Soth police spokesperson Inspector Chiratidzo Dube identified the deceased as Luckson Ndlovu.

Dube said the accident occurred on Monday at around 9am on an unnamed dust road in the Tshemahali area, Madlambuzi.

“Ndlovu and his wife Caren Dube (22), were on a donkey-drawn scotch cart looking for firewood. The scotch cart hit a tree trunk, resulting in it overturning and trapping the deceased,” Dube said.

“He was taken to Ntoli Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The body is at Plumtree District Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.”
