Vusa Blaqs finds new love?

Vusa Blaqs Hlatshwayo

BARELY two years after a glamourous and much publicised traditional wedding, videographer Vusa “Blaqs” Hlatshwayo seems to have moved on and found new love if images on social media are anything to go by.

Blaqs wedded his then sweetheart, Rux Rukobo in 2021. Their marriage turned nasty five months later when Blaqs was accused of domestic violence after allegedly assaulting his wife.

The allegations against Blaqs came after the image of his wife’s battered face was leaked on social media. Rukobo alleged that she was a victim of domestic violence.

Images of Blaqs on social media show the video director on holiday in Victoria Falls, looking cosy with a white lady identified as Stephanie Schumann.

Schumann is well-known for her contributions in the arts sector and promotion of African bands in the Diaspora.

She has closely worked with local group Mookomba, which is one of the most touring musical groups in the country.

Blaqs got on the limelight after directing Ammara Brown and ExQ's video for Bhachura before he went on to direct award-winning videos for Jah Prayzah, Takura and many other artistes.

Recently, he joined hands with Sydney Taivashe for a short film titled Konflict, the yet-to-be-launched film follows the story of Kundai, a young girl who dreams of being a game ranger protecting wildlife.

She lives in a village that is adjacent to a game park and the community is in constant conflict with wildlife.

The film seeks to advocate for co-existence between humans and wildlife to save life from conflict.
