HIGHLANDERS coach Kelvin Kaindu is confident that they will get their first victory at Nyamhunga Stadium when they clash with ZPC Kariba in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match tomorrow.
The Bulawayo giants have not beaten ZPC Kariba on their own turf in over a decade.
The Zambian mentor says he is not paying much attention into that piece of history.
“I am not reading much (into that history). Last season, we struggled to beat teams like Bikita Minerals, Yadah and FC Platinum, who beat us home and away,” Kaindu said.
“But this season, we have managed to pick up points from all the three teams. I just hope that we try to use that to our advantage and try to maintain the form that we picked.
“We did not have good results in terms of travelling, but in the last game that we played against Yadah, we were able to score two goals and also managed to create chances that we could have capitalised to get more goals.”
Last year, the Bulawayo giants lost to Bikita in Mutare and salvaged a point back home, but they beat them at Barbourfields two weeks ago.
Bosso lost in the away fixture against Yadah, but this time, they won.

Last Sunday, they played out a draw against FC Platinum, having lost home and away last season.
A deadly strike combination of Reason Sibanda and Brighton “MaNinja” Ncube, with Never Rauzhi on the flank has set Highlanders ablaze.
Kaindu paid tribute to the whole team.
“Credit is given to the entire team, the support that they are giving.
“We have got a strike force that is able to unlock in every game that we have played apart from the first game that we lost (to MWOS) in the first week,” he said.
“But we are capable of scoring at any given time and we just hope that we keep the momentum and we keep up the rhythm in terms of us scoring.
“We also need to improve on the ratio of the chances that we are creating.”
Kaindu is not taking any chances on ZPC Kariba, who have started the season well.
“We travel to ZPC Kariba, who have done quite well, unlike the way they played last season. They picked up a draw against Ngezi, where they also managed to score two goals,” the Zambian said.
“They are consistent this season, they are scoring. We travel to their home ground. A very tricky ground, not easy for teams to play, but maybe the advantage that we have is that we are going there when it is winter. We are not complaining about the weather.”
Talent Dube and Gillian Nyathi picked up knocks against FC Platinum last week and are doubtful for tomorrow’s clash.
