“Our team performed very well playing in a course that was filled with 64 players from 10 countries — the UK, France, China, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. None of our teams finished outside the top five and they were placed between first and fifth positions,” he said.
“The World Cup qualifier is never an easy challenge and we were also playing in championship courses. They did their best and, with the preparations that we had made before the tournament, it paid off.
“We need more game time and more golf sessions, as well as working on one or two rules. Those are the areas that I think we may need to work on looking ahead. If we play more and more different courses, I think we will be OK,” he said.
Kamba also shared the academy’s busy schedule with several international competitions lined up.
“We have the Ireland Junior Tour qualifiers in Botswana coming up in April. This tournament leads to a qualifier for the Pepsi Little Peoples Golf Championships, which will be played in America around July this year.
“There is also the Callaway Tour, Titleist Tour, Asian Masters and more tours that have opened up from this tour we had in South Africa. We will have more students going out on different tours,” he said.
