TOP bodybuilder Gideon Teguru is part of the Zimbabwe team which will compete at this year's International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) President Santonja Africa Cup to be held on May 18 and 19 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The local hulk made it four triumphs in a row after he won the Harare Classic, Zimbabwe Nationals, Mr Zimbabwe and the Alex Classic last year.
Teguru is currently looking for sponsorship for his debut participation in the President Santonja Africa Cup.
“If sponsors come on board that will be my first time to participate in the President Santonja Africa Cup. I really want to win. I am done losing. I want to do my things professionally. I am training, I am doing everything that I should do. I don’t have enough resources for preparations because this sport (bodybuilding) is expensive,” he said.
Twenty-three Zimbabwean bodybuilders will this year compete in five different categories which include Bikini, Women Wellness, Men`s Fitness, Men`s Physique and Senior Men Bodybuilding.
Francis Tatanga Chideme is part of the Zimbabwe team to represent the country in the senior men's bodybuilding with Teguru.
Chideme came third last year at the IFBB World Championship in the men's fitness category in Kish Island, Iran.
Chideme, who is based in the United Arab Emirates, became the first Zimbabwean to achieve that placing at IFBB World Championships.
