ALL is set for the 2025 edition of the Harare Province Ladies Golf Association (HPLGA) which tees off at Chapman Golf Club this weekend.
The two-day tournament runs from February 8 to 9 and is registered on the World Amateur Golf Ranking which makes it one of the top women events on the local amateur circuit.
Some of the country's top female golfers are expected to compete for honours as well as points on the world rankings.
Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Union president Olivia Nyamwanza reiterated the importance of the event to golfers.
"These provincial tournaments are a platform for the ladies to be recognised to represent the country worldwide. The president of HPLGA Penelope Guzha and her team are upbeat and ready for a successful tournament. Thank you Harare province for leading from the front,” she said.
"The tournament will see all the lady golfers in Zimbabwe competing for the Harare Province Ladies Strokeplay Championship trophy. The tournament is registered on the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR). The winner of the tournament is recognised on the WAGR and stand a chance to be invited to some of the world's top tournaments when they rise to the top," Nyamwanza said.
There will be a 54-hole contest which is the championship division for the top players and the 36-hole contest for the rest of the golfers.
Registration fee is US$40 for the championship division and $30 for the 36-hole contest. Deadline for registration is today.
