THREE weeks ago, we embarked on a journey to study the emphasis of the Gospel of Christ.
There’s no consensus in the body of Christ on what the message of Christ to the church is.
The Bible is very clear though on what should be uttered on the pulpit.
However, our methods of interpretation are the cause of the schisms.
Some will say Jesus preached the kingdom of Heaven or of God.
There’s no problem with that.
We will situate it into context.
Some say it is the Grace of God and are quickly shot down by those seeking to return to Mount Sinai who say Grace is license to sin, so let’s stick to the Law.

We have already studied that the church is apostolic, that is, it’s founded on the doctrine of the apostles.
The foundation of the apostles doctrine is Jesus Christ, the Cornerstone.
Saul persecuted the church using the Bible.
After an encounter with Jesus, he said in Galatians 1:6-7, “[6] I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: [7] Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.”
He said proclaiming anything that is not the Grace of Christ is another gospel, perversion and trouble making.
He even warns us, Galatians 1:8-9, “[8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. [9] As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
There’s double emphasis.
We should, therefore, take heed.
Quite sobering!
We should not just churn out anything on the pulpit because it appeals to the gathering.
There should be fear and honour of God and we should always remember, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15, New Kings Version, “[10] According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. [11] For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. [12] Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, [13] each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. [14] If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. [15] If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.”
We need serious and sincere introspection. Is our message worth of the death of Jesus?
In feeding the Master’s sheep, we should use His menu.
What did Apostle Paul preach? Let us study it.
We read 1 Corinthians 15:1, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;” There’s a gospel which has the power for believers to stand without shaking.
The Gospel brought salvation, 1 Corinthians 15:2, “By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.”
If we were saved by grace through faith, we should never depart from that.
Here’s the Gospel of Christ, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, “[3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” It touches remission of sins up to eternal life. Elsewhere he teaches that Jesus ascended and is seated on the right hand of Majesty.
From Sunday school we have always learnt that Jesus died, was buried, descended or went down to hades, rose again from the dead and was seen, ascended to heaven and sat down on the right hand (place of honour and on the throne).
There’s no other Gospel of Christ beyond this. We will be preaching this every day till the return of Jesus Christ.
The kingdom of heaven or of God cannot function where His Grace hasn’t been proclaimed.
He fulfilled and abolished the Law in His body to offer us His Grace for our salvation so that His Kingdom may function in us and be expressible through us.
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.
