Personal power: Life’s important questions

The five mind frames explained by Haward Garder’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences show that we are different.

IN my entire writing career, this might or is one of the most important articles.

In this life, most people are seeking happiness not meaning.

Meaning is bigger than happiness. In reality, meaning is the heart of happiness.

Happiness might be (or is) temporary, meaning brings more; it brings fulfilment.

What makes you unique?

We are wired differently. We might look alike, but what excites us and brings true fulfilment to each one of us is different.

We have different likings. We have different tastes.

What connects to your true self? What brings meaning? What brings fulfilment?

Embrace and love that thing that makes you different.

It’s not about fitting in, it’s about standing out.

Seek meaning

People are looking for different things. Some are looking for money.

For others, it’s an orgasm. All those things are good, but never enough.

The best is to seek meaning and value.

Other things can give us happiness, but it’s in meaning where you get true fulfilment.

It’s hard to become lonely when you pursue your meaning.

Go inward

Resist what others prescribe. People might not even be clear about what they want to accomplish themselves, but they want to control your life.

They are miserable, but they still want you to live in a particular way.

The driving force should not be what other people think and propose for you, but what you are built for.

Self-reflection, self-awareness and self-knowledge are very important.

There is something special within you. Know who you are and know what matters.

The power of avoidance

Don’t think about what others are doing.

There are things you must stop focusing on. You are not built for everything. Don’t be seduced by trivial matters.

Never assume entertainment is what brings meaning and happiness.

You don’t need to follow people that are seemingly having fun.

Avoid things that might give you pleasure now, and steal from your future.

Focus on that thing, until you are a master.

If you are to learn anything, learn that one thing that feeds into your purpose.

If you are to read, read around your purpose.

If you are to listen to anything, listen to one thing that feeds to your purpose.

If you are to have friends, look for those that challenge you to pursue your purpose and passion.

Just after finishing your Ordinary or Advanced Level, you might hear your friends talking about what they want to pursue at university.

Be clear on what you want by seeking information that feeds into self-awareness and self-knowledge.

It’s not about what everyone is doing, it’s all about doing you.

Do something

We have to get into the process of doing it. Most people suffer from procrastination. Some think life will come their way.

Some are afraid of failing, and they stop doing. Some fear success.

The difference between a creative writer and another writer is that the creative writer does not write, the mere writer writes, and gets their work out there.

They get feedback and they learn through the process of failure.

When you fail, you are better than the person that did not try at all. You got lessons and learnt, they learnt nothing

What excites you?

It’s easy to do what excites you. It’s an adventure.

Don’t force yourself into a career that does not fit into what you love.

When I finished my Ordinary Level, confusion crippled in.

I didn’t have a sense of direction.

I didn’t know what to do with my life.

However there was this internal void that led to innumerable voices screaming at me.

No one would fill that void, until I started doing what I love.

There are fundamental questions: Who are you? What gives you fun?  What are you built to do? What do you think makes you happy? Where do you get fulfilment? What problems do you want to solve? Who do you want to help?

Love it, to chase it

Do what you love. Have you realised that what makes you chase a particular girl is because you love them?

Such is success and purpose.

First, you have to love it to chase it. If you don’t love it, you will struggle when the lustre fades away.

Love the process, so that if it becomes hard you are still able to stick with it. What’s that thing you love to do?

What are the places you love to visit? What people do you love to be with?

It’s easy to chase what you love. Some people are stuck to a job they hate.

The job gives them stress, but they keep going back because it gives them something to put on their table.

It’s like self-torture. It’s like getting married to someone you don’t like, but because you get sex, you are stuck to them.

So what do you do? Use that boring job to finance your purpose. Don’t quit, until you have financed your destiny.

Invest in seminars, books, courses that align with purpose or passion.

Nueropower

You have power within you, but most people don’t love to use that power. What is this power? It’s your brain.

This is where most of the things are imagined and created.

The brain is amazing. When you are to choose a career, you need to master your mind.

The five mind frames explained by Haward Garder’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences show that we are different.

These five cognitive abilities include mathematical, linguistical, bodily-kinesthetic, logical, and musical intelligences.

So the best will be to know the strength of your brain and work within your strengths.

For example, I am in love with words and writing.

The best thing I do is to read to improve my writing skills and how I can use my spoken words effectively.

So my life is centred on professional speaking and writing. This is what I do at work and in my spare time.

Learn the voice of your brain. Master the art of meditation or priming your mind.

Meditation is a biblical principle and it’s even used by different religions.

Through meditation you focus your mind and empower your neuro wiring.

I struggle with math and accounting. Why?

That is not my mental space. I love art, words, writing, language, reading, and speaking.

If I am in that space, I feel great, on top of the world and that has made me travel to four continents. Master your personal power!
