Farm worker assaults neighbour

The suspect, Sondelani Maduna from Edward Nyongolo farm in Nxele village, pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware.

A 31-year-old man from Plumtree was remanded in custody on charges of assaulting his neighbour over a 1000 rand debt.

The suspect, Sondelani Maduna from Edward Nyongolo farm in Nxele village, pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware.

Prosecutor Selstine Madziwa said February 27 at around 5pm, the complainant was at her place of residence when she was approached by Maduna, who was demanding his money for the brick moulding job he had done for her.

The complainant told Manduna that she had no money.

This did not go well with Maduna, who became violent and picked up a wooden log and struck her once on the head.

Maduna fled from the scene.

A police report was filed leading to his arrest.
