100% ZITF exhibition space taken up

ZITF board chairperson Busisa Moyo said traditional exhibition space was 100% full.

TWENTY-EIGHT countries have confirmed participation at this year’s 65th edition  of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).

The annual showcase will run from April 21 to 26 in Bulawayo.

ZITF board chairperson Busisa Moyo said traditional exhibition space was 100% full.

Moyo said the ZITF company had prepared extra space to accommodate a huge volume of exhibitors, currently standing at 596.

“Currently, direct exhibitors have taken up 51 204,62 square metres of exhibition space,” Moyo told journalists at a Press conference.

“We can confirm the participation of 45 direct international exhibitors with 28 countries represented at the show, a notable increase from last year’s 27 countries.”

Mozambique President Daniel Chapo will officially open ZITF.

“Highlights of preparations include holding stakeholder meetings to share ideas and insights to enable alignment for a successful show,” Moyo said.

“We have already received assurance from stakeholders in the hospitality industry, emergency services and security services among a few that they are ready for the show.

“Exhibitor competition judges have been oriented and are now ready to begin judging as soon as the show begins.”

Moyo said they were prioritising visitor and exhibitor convenience through several key initiatives aimed at improving access, reducing congestion, among others.

“The opening of a satellite office in Harare has significantly reduced congestion at the Bulawayo office and improved the experience of customers close to and within Harare,” he said.

Some of the events lined up at the fair include the Rural Industrialisation Indaba, Zimbabwe-India Business Session, Innovators Forum and Hackathon and International Business Conference.

Other events include the Innovators Forum and Hackathon, Research for Industrialisation and Economic Recovery Conference, Connect Africa Symposium and the Diplomats’ Forum, among others.
