TEEN fashion model Hope “Hope Lil One” Gamba says he devotes time to charity to help make Zimbabwe a better place.
In an interview with NewsDay Life & Style, Hope Lil One, who is an Advanced Level student at Mexico College in Harare, said he had opened a charity club named after him.
“Through my charity initiatives I have been to many places stretching my hand to inspire others who are in need, not by choice. With the little that I have, I give in order to feed and clothe someone not that I have more,” he said.
Hope Lil One said his vision was to make less-privileged children happy.
“With the help of my United States of America-based relative, so far, I have helped 10 children who live with their grandparents as their parents had no money for school fees and uniforms.
“I have been pushed and motivated by the response from the community which has also been pleased by my actions to start the Hope Charity Club. So far, I managed to get the children enrolled at Gwinyai Primary School in Mbare. I bought them uniforms, books and covered other school expenses.”
The 18-year-old Hope Lil One, who is the reigning Mr Teen Harare, said he launched his modelling journey when he was in Form 2.
“Being a fashion model has seen me working with several brands on advertisements. Being a fashion model, one gets connected with brands and brand owners,” he said.

The Mbare-based Hope Lil One said he would host a football match and a get-together at Mathew Rusike Children’s Home on September 2 in partnership with popular comedian and video vixen Clayton “Bla Giant” Anderson.
“We are going to spend time with the kids at Mathew Rusike Children’s Home just to make them feel at home. I will also donate books and clothes,” he added.
