THE Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) factions are in disagreement with self-proclaimed secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu over a plot to suspend elections in 2028 and form a government of national unity.
Tshabangu’s role is to push for the extension of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s stay in power by two years on the pretext that he has to finish the projects his government is undertaking.
Everything else that is happening is a smokescreen.
He is making sure he forges ahead with his paymaster’s plan to extend Mnangagwa’s presidency.
Behind this web of lies and deceit is a leadership and its proxies milking the country dry.
We are all seeing the wrongs happening right under our noses.
Citizens have expressed their displeasure through the ballot box, however, the November 2017 top coup beneficiaries would have none of it.
They have planted their acolytes in the opposition, who wrested power from real leaders with the assistance of security agents and the Judiciary under the veil of the COVID-19 movement restrictions.

That having worked, the Tshabangus and Mwonzoras have been unrelenting, throwing spanners into the works to stifle democracy, hence gifting Zanu PF with undeserved seats in council, the National Assembly and Senate.
Their paymasters are pulling the strings behind the scene, funding the shenanigans and pretending to be surprised when word starts doing rounds that so and so has done this and that to weaken the opposition.
Given the vehemence with which Zanu PF has been pushing for one-party State, there is no opposition to talk about in Zimbabwe anymore.
Commonsense no longer is.
Respect for choices means nothing to this capitalist and greedy lot which now occupy leadership positions.
Those who are pushing to extend Mnangagwa’s term are not doing it out of love for this country, they have realised that is the safest way of protecting their loot and ensuring corruption enjoys impunity.
Instead, under the system they are glorified, immortalised, seen as demigods.
That’s the extent to which Mnangagwa has dragged this country down.
Yesterday, we ran a story titled Zimra probes flashy mbingas, where the revenue collector has launched a fresh campaign targeting social media influencers, musicians, celebrities and politicians who flaunt wealth.
That is the end of it, given that powerful politicians are a call away from the so-called mbingas, which renders the probe moot.
That is the kind of governance we have now, which imprisons journalists who expose corruption, a case in point being that of Hopewell Chin’ono, who was incarcerated for exposing the Draxgate scandal.
The same government imprisons journalists who attend Press conferences and broadcast what was said there.
A government that goes to the extent of bastardising the Constitution to benefit an individual to probably become life president.
Never again should we entertain despots who cling to power for selfish reasons.
Zimbabwe should never be a fiefdom.
Tshabangu is more or less a Zanu PF incendiary inside the CCC, with the likes of Local Government ministers Daniel Garwe and ICT minister Tatenda Mavetera acting as flanks.
Meanwhile, public hospitals are in a state of disrepair.
A few days ago, it was reported that Mnangagwa had secured a deal for the revamping of the country’s health sector, starting with the reconstruction and capacitation of Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
The rehabilitation of the public health system does not need deals, it needs commitment on the part of government and stakeholders.
It needs funding by the government.
The moment it becomes a deal, it smacks of everything wrong.
It paints a whole bad picture.
It tells Zimbabwe that our leaders are in office to profit from signing such deals, whose costs are usually inflated.
This is why Tshabangu, Garwe and Mavetera want to bastardise the Constitution and continue impoverishing Zimbabweans.
It does not even occur to them that for once, they must listen to reason.
