THREE prisoners at Bulawayo Prison, popularly known as Grey Prison, have been sentenced to 20 years each for taking turns to sodomise a fellow inmate.
Bhekimpilo Sinyoro (30), Thabo Ncube (24) and Arnold Chemhere (29) pleaded guilty to the charge of aggravated indecent assault when they appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Dambudzo Malunga on Wednesday.
Malunga cited aggravated circumstances before sentencing the trio to 20 years in jail each.
“The 20-year-old victim (name withheld) told the court that he was shy to walk around the prison because fellow inmates mocked him about the rape,” the magistrate said.
The court was told that on December 29 at Bulawayo Prison, the three accosted the complainant asking for sex and he refused.
They offered the complainant food and he refused.
They then forcibly carried him to a cell where they took turns to sodomise him.
