POLICE in Masvingo have arrested a Form 4 student in connection with the murder of a classmate at Mazambara High School in Zimuto.
The incident took place on Monday at around midday at the school.
“Isaac Denhere (19) of Zvokuenda village in Zimuto and Anesu Madhara (18) of Sedera village had an altercation where Denhere accused Madhara of assaulting his younger brother,” Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Dhewa said.
“During the fight, Denhere produced an Okapi knife and stabbed Madhara in the abdomen before fleeing the scene.
“Some schoolchildren who had gathered tried to render assistance to Madhara while others tried to apprehend Denhere, which they failed to do.”
Dhewa said Madhara was taken to a local clinic, where he died on admission.
A police report was made, leading to Denhere’s arrest.
He will appear in court soon.
