Byo man stabbed to death

The deceased, Maqhawe Nkomo, died following an attack by his neighbour Mxolisi Ncube.

A 25-YEAR-OLD man from Entumbane suburb succumbed to stab wounds following an altercation with his neighbour.

The deceased, Maqhawe Nkomo, died following an attack by his neighbour Mxolisi Ncube.

The two had earlier fought over an undisclosed matter.

Ncube has since been arrested.

Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the tragic incident saying investigations were in progress.

“Police in Bulawayo have arrested accused person Mxolisi Ncube (20) of Entumbane, Bulawayo, in connection with a case of murder,” she said

“On August 5 at 5:30pm at C-turn junction, Entumbane, Bulawayo, the accused, Ncube, approached the now deceased who was in the company of his two friends and confronted him about an undisclosed matter.”

She said Ncube accused Nkomo of ganging up with his friends to assault him.

“Nkomo apologised and explained to Ncube that he did not assault hi,m but only intervened to stop the fighting. The accused then produced a knife and stabbed the deceased once on the right thigh and went away,” Msebele said.

She said Nkomo was then assisted by his friends, and escorted to police to make a report.

Police summoned an ambulance crew, but he was pronounced dead before he could be taken to hospital.
