Makhwelintaba Shaba Arts & Cultural Expo set to ignite Tsholotsho

Shaba Arts Projects emphasised the significance of the partnership.

IN a heartfelt gesture to give back to the community, the Arts & Cultural Expo, brought to life by Makhwelintaba and Shaba Arts Projects, is ready to light up the Dube Homestead Events Centre.

The showcase, hosted at the Mbute Line venue near the Tsholotsho business centre, promises an afternoon and evening of rich performances, dynamic displays and a shared celebration of local creativity.

In an interview with NewsDay Life & Style, Shaba Arts Project director Topasi Ndlovu said entrance to the expo would be free, underscoring a commitment to accessibility and community empowerment.

“This expo is for everyone,” Ndlovu said.

“We want families, artists and neighbours to come together, experience the arts and feel the energy that live performances bring to our community.”

Event details remain true to its community-first ethos, with a line-up designed to spotlight a diverse range of talents, from traditional dance and storytelling to contemporary music and visual arts.

Attendees can expect a blend of culturally-rooted performances alongside innovative, modern acts, all presented in a venue that has become a hub for local culture and exchange.

Shaba Arts Projects emphasised the significance of the partnership.

“Two vibrant organisations are joining forces to create something bigger than the sum of its parts. By opening our doors for free, we’re investing in the next generation of artists and in the cultural heartbeat of Tsholotsho and beyond.”

The expo is expected to feature demonstrations, interactive installations and opportunities for budding performers to connect with seasoned artists and mentors.

The event aims to build lasting relationships among participants and audiences, reinforcing the area’s role as a thriving cultural corridor.
