Firms urged to take advantage of the UK-Zim Business Expo

Kapesa said that the event is open to people from different countries across the world, but with huge benefits for Zimbabweans based locally and abroad. 

ORGANISERS of the UK-Zimbabwe Business Expo 2024 have urged the local business community to take advantage of the exhibition to market their businesses and products to investors and potential customers.

The expo, which is being organised by the Zimbabweans in Diaspora Organisation (ZIDO) and Vaka Ekhaya, is set to take place on October 5 at the Bethel Convention Centre in the United Kingdom.

“We encourage the local business community to take full advantage of this event, which will act as an interface between investors, businesspeople and their potential customers. The event will spotlight the extensive investment opportunities that Zimbabwe offers,” ZIDO chief executive Blessed Kapesa said.

He said the event was open to people from different countries across the world, but with huge benefits for Zimbabweans based locally and abroad.

“Our aim is to foster collaboration between the diaspora, UK investors and local businesses. By doing so, we hope to open new lines of credit and establish strong partnerships. We have been in active dialogue with various embassies to reinforce these connections,” Kapesa said.

“Additionally, we look forward to learning from other African business leaders based in the UK, a perspective that will be highlighted during our panel discussions.”

The ZIDO chief executive underscored the significance of the business expo to Zimbabwean companies, especially those that are seeking to find new customers and opportunities.

“Participating in this expo provides businesses with a unique opportunity to explore new markets and establish crucial connections essential for expanding their global reach,” he said.

“The platform allows companies to introduce themselves to potential partners, investors and collaborators — key elements for gaining visibility on the global stage. In today’s interconnected world, such exposure is vital for any business seeking sustainable growth.”

Kapesa added that the inspiration for the event came from the success of Zimbabwean businesses that showed remarkable growth, often with limited financial resources.

“As diasporas, we felt it was our responsibility to leverage on our networks and create a multi-sectoral expo that highlights Zimbabwe’s vast opportunities.”
