Speaking to Noble Stylz, he said the masterclass is meant to merge art and the business side of the creative sector.

By Style Reporter For the Culture hip-hop monthly show held at Moto Republik in the capital, will this month major on financial literacy in the music industry.

The event organised by Masofa Panze Art Consultancy headed by Noble Stylz was launched last month and featured performances from Soko Matemai, Blacperl, Dough Major and Tulk Munny.

The second edition of the event is scheduled on July 30 at Moto Republik.

A financial literacy masterclass will be the headline affair of the event that will also see performances.

The masterclass panelist will be Chiko Chipunza, an auditor, artist management and founder of Mighty Woman Productions. Also on the panelists will be radio personality PD The Ghost, an award winning radio presenter and producer at ZiFM Stereo, an artist and repertoire consultant, record executive producer and event host.

The inaugural edition of the show was headlined by a media masterclass, which saw blogger and journalist Michael Shoko, broadcaster Zandile “Zaza” Ndlovu and journalist Sindiso Dube sharing an insight of the media and its relationship with the music industry.

Speaking to Noble Stylz, he said the masterclass is meant to merge art and the business side of the creative sector.

“For the Culture is an all-element hip-hop event that brings together the main four components — rapping, Djaying, break-dancing and graffiti into one realm,” he said.

“Added to those elements is knowledge in the form of a masterclass, a bridge to merge art and the business to create a covalent dimension.

“The first masterclass featured media gurus and the second edition titled financial literacy in arts will bring financial think tanks in a bid to empower and impart artists with knowledge on how best to make hay and still survive the rainy days.”

On the day, Break Nation, a dance initiative headed by BBOY-Chrystyls will provide the most travelled and decorated Zim urban dancers for an All-Style Dance Off.

The event will also feature artists from Bulawayo and other cities.

“The organisers, Masofa Panze Art Consultancy have gone for a countrywide approach as artists from the Hip Hop Capital Bulawayo will invade the capital for a mash up with their Harare counterparts,” Noble Stylz said.

“Also, artists from as wide as Rusape and Chinhoyi will be part of the event as the event builds up towards its inaugural Festival at the end of this year.”
