Chipo Muchegwa engages Sangoma

Musician Chipo Muchegwa is continuing to remember people with disability after she engaged Glendale based traditional healer Sekuru Nyangatayani in giving back to communities.

Muchegwa and Sekuru Nyangatayani visited Masembura village in Bindura on Friday where they donated groceries and money to Blessing Nelson (13), a girl with disability.

The Ndezvemoyo hit maker told this publication that she joined hands with Sekuru Nyangatayani after being advised by one Kufa Transport to assist Nelson.

“I was advised by Kufa transport to go and make a donation to Nelson last year, so on my way l met Sekuru Nyangatayani and he showed interest in assisting the project hence we came together and donated various goods,” Muchegwa said.

“We continued to do that and sought a stand for her so that she lives in a decent home with her mother so we managed to build a house for her and since then we make sure we come here and give donations.”

Chenzira Nelson, mother to Blessing hailed the partnership and heaped praises on Sekuru Nyangatayani whom she said gives her monthly pay since last year.

“We are being assisted and life has changed. l would like to thank Sisi Chipo who is always supporting us and Sekuru Nyangatayani is our hero. He gives me $150 monthly pay apart from the groceries we get so may God bless the duo,” she said.

The traditional healer pledged to keep supporting the family and other disadvantaged people he comes across.

“Giving back runs in my blood l started a chicken project for the family so that they do not lack and l am pledging more projects for them to have a decent life,” Nyangatayani said.

Nyangatayani is well-known for a good heart after he took an accident victim Karidza Zvamuri who is now his secretary.
