
Top Zimbabwe professional golfer Robson Chinhoi and lady amateur golfer Nothando Namuinesu were crowned champions in the annual Li Invitational tournament which was held on Monday and Tuesday at Royal Harare Golf Club.
Chinhoi won the championship division while Namuinesu ruled the roost in the amatuer competition.
After an opening round of 1- under - par 71, Chinhoi showcased his class with a superb 2-under-par on Tuesday to secure the professional title with a commanding total of 3 - under-par for the tournament.
He narrowly edged out Michael Wallace, who also delivered an impressive performance.
In the amateur division, Namuinesu was simply exceptional.
She set the pace on Monday with a fantastic 2-under-par round and followed it up with an incredible 7-under-par on Tuesday, finishing with a remarkable total of 9-under-par for the two days.
The tournament, meticulously run and organized by the Zim Challenge Tour, saw a strong turnout of 49 participants, testament to the growing interest in golf within the country.
Zim Challenge Tour director, Arnold Burasho expressed his satisfaction with the event's success.

"The tournament went well, we had a good turn out of 49 participants," Burasho said.
"We, as Zim Challenge Tour, would like to thank LI Company for such a great tournament and amazing prize purse. We would also like to thank Royal Harare Golf Club for hosting us; the course was in good condition. We look forward to playing the LI Invitational next year. Our goal is to give game time to our local professionals and elite amateurs around Zimbabwe."
