Bosso's Try Ncube ready for MWOS challenge

HIGHLANDERS acting head coach Try Ncube embarks on a new challenge in his first job in charge in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League in a match against MWOS  at Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow.

The Bulawayo giants sacked coach Kelvin Kaindu during the week following a string of poor results in the first half of the season. His assistant, Ncube, was elevated to the top post, in an acting capacity.

Ncube will be assisted by Agent Sawu, who was the second assistant under Kaindu.

"We are preparing well for the match so far. Everything is going according to plan. It's a tricky game because MWOS are a good side. They lost last week and they beat us in our first match of the season. We are prepared to face them and I hope the players have applied themselves well and are going to get a good result. We have been working on combinations in midfield and going forward so that we can manage to score goals as a team that will be playing at home," Ncube said.

He added: "This is a very big game. They don't come bigger than this one. But as a coach, you know what you have to do. We are going to do what we have to do to get results."

Goalkeeper Raphael Pitisi and midfielder Mckinnon Mushore have to pass late fitness tests for the tough battle against MWOS, who lost their first game of the season last weekend to Ngezi Platinum Stars at Baobab Stadium.

Kaindu, who packed his bags to return to his native Zambia on Wednesday night, leaves Highlanders ninth on the log table with 23 points from five wins and eight draws. The team lost four matches.

Culminating in his sacking, Highlanders beat Yadah away at the Heart Stadium, before a home draw to FC Platinum, and then lost on the road to ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga.

The Bulawayo giants returned home and suffered another defeat to Herentals before a stalemate with Dynamos at Rufaro.

Victory became elusive for Bosso, who lost the next game to Simba Bhora at home, before beating Manica Diamonds in Mutare.

But after another home draw to Chicken Inn last weekend, the Highlanders leadership decided to part ways with the Zambian, who, interestingly, had 26 points after 17 matches last year, with Bosso sixth on the log.
