A historic battle of Lloyds at Ngoni

The match comes at a time when the two Lloyd are experiencing contrasting fortunes in the league race with Chigowe struggling after losing the  last two games.

MWOS FC Lloyd Mutasa is confident of victory when his side hosts Harare giants Dynamos, who are under the tutelage of his namesake Lloyd Chigowe in the historic first Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match to be played at Ngoni Stadium in Norton tomorrow.

Ngoni Stadium, which has been undergoing renovations since the end of last season, got the thumbs up to host topflight league games from the Zifa First Instance Board this week.

It was exciting news for the supporters of high-flying MWOS FC to finally watch the team play at home after adopting Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro-Ngezi since the start of the season.

Surprisingly, The Punters are sitting pretty on top of the log standings, six matches into the league season.

The match comes at a time when the two Lloyd are experiencing contrasting fortunes in the league race with Chigowe struggling after losing the  last two games.

Mutasa is relishing the Dynamos test and is confident of getting the desired result.

“After a good start comprising four wins and two draws and then meeting Dynamos at Ngoni, I think it's befitting for us as a team and for our fans because they were clamouring to see big teams come to Norton.

“Dynamos is one of the best teams in the country, so it's a nice feeling to open our Stadium against Dynamos," Mutasa said.

“And then for us it's about getting the result because people will always talk about the first match that we played at Ngoni Stadium, meeting Dynamos and beating them will be nice for the record books.

"To the fans I would like to say come in your large numbers to support the team as you have always done before.

“You really wanted our team to be in the premier league and here we are. You are the 12th player and we cannot do it alone.

“Come and support your team and everything will come into place," the former Dynamos coach added.

MWOS FC have amassed 14 points from a possible 18 and are one point ahead of Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Billy Veremu and goalkeeper Martin Mapisa have been top performers for the club so far.

On the other hand Chigowe believes they know all about MWOS FC to get a positive result and stem their losing run.

“We have got an idea of how MWOS Football Club plays,” he said. “We know that they are on a roll and we have tasted defeat on two consecutive matches and that should spur us to give a very good fight in Norton.”

Dynamos are 13th on the log standings from six matches, with one win, three draws and two losses.
