THE Zifa Central Region Soccer League 2025 season is set to roar into life this weekend, with at least three clubs Chapungu, newbies Hardrock FC and Sheasham among the favourites.
Last season, Kwekwe United, under coach Prince Matore, clinched the sole promotion ticket from the region.
Matore swiftly switched to Sheasham FC early this year, where there is hope that he will repeat a similar feat at the Gweru-based-side.
Along with former Warriors star Luke Petros, as assistant coach, Matore has assembled a younger squad after the club parted ways with the likes of Rahman Kutsanzira, Butholezwe Ncube and Ray Lunga.
The Construction Boys begin their campaign with an away trip to newboys Matobo FC tomorrow at Minda High School grounds.
Chapungu, who retained the bulk of their squad, will resume their quest for promotion against Bishopstone FC on Sunday at Ascot Stadium.
As usual, the Airmen conducted their business quietly, but will hope to improve from last season.
All the spotlight will be on the soft-spoken coach Tawanda Marimo to see if he will manage to fly the Airmen back into the Premier Soccer League.
