DYNAMOS coach Lloyd Chigowe has expressed excitement at the potential his team has, especially the youngsters, to fire from all cylinders and compete well in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
As he has always done in the past, Chigowe has embarked on another Dynamos rebuild after the Chibuku Super Cup champions lost several senior players including captain Frank Makarati, Donald Mudadi, Tanaka Shandirwa, Sadney Urikhob, Emmanuel Paga, the Moyo twins, Elvis and Kelvin, and Emmanuel Ziocha, among others.
Experienced defender Donald Dzvinyai, who featured in the Castle Challenge Cup triumph over Simba Bhora two Saturdays ago, is the latest player to leave as he relocates to the UK to join his family.
Dynamos have had to make do with a very young and inexperienced squad which picked up a point at home to ZPC Kariba on Sunday.
The Glamour Boys had to rely on young players such as Enasio Perezo Jr(20), Elton Chikona (19), Tendai Magwaza (23), Ghanaian forward Frank Agmeyang (21) and Brandon Jerimani (18) in the two matches they have played so far.
Chigowe expressed confidence in his young players.
"We have got a lot of youngsters. We have gradually fused them into the system. At the end of the day, you can see the confidence that young players like Enasio Perezo show. He takes the ball to the opponent. Last week, you saw Brandon Jerimani did very well. Like I said, we have got several other youngsters. What is key is for this team to gel and become a real unit. The potential of this team is very high," he said after Sunday's match.
"You can see that we dominated proceedings, especially in the second half. This team (ZPC Kariba) did not take a shot on goal. No shot on target. But they also made sure that they sat deep and had numbers behind the ball. They were tenacious and organised. The organisation was good. I will not take that away from them.

"Otherwise, they intended to come out with a draw and they achieved that objective. You can see, for example, one of the youngsters who was supposed to start, Ephraim Gwekwerere, did not as his registration did not come through. So, we are still adding numbers to this squad. We need to add at least two more experienced players, especially in defence, where we lack depth. But going forward, I think we are a compact unit. I believe that once we get the right composure, we will get the results," he said.
After managing a draw in their first league match of the season, Dynamos are at Rufaro Stadium again this Saturday to face tricky customer Herentals FC.
Herentals who were the best-placed team from Harare last season after they finished in 5th place began their 2025 campaign with a 2-1 win over TelOne.
