THE wait is over. The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League is back and the excitement is electric. This week all eyes will be on Northern Region Soccer League champions Scottland FC who host Triangle FC at Rufaro Stadium in the first fixture on Friday.
Newcomers Scottland FC take centre stage
Newcomers Scottland FC make their debut against Triangle United FC on Friday at Rufaro Stadium. This match will likely draw a huge crowd, as Scottland FC look to make a strong impression in their first season.
With a star-studded squad, including championship-winning coach Tonderai Ndiraya and top players such as Mthokozisi Msebe, Tymon Machope and Walter Musona, Scottland FC are expected to make a statement seeking to inherit Simba Bhora's crown.
They boast of the top three players from the 2024 PSL season with reigning Soccer Star of the Year Walter Musona, runners-up Khama Billiat and Lynoth Chikuhwa, who is also the Golden Boot winner, all turning out for the Scott Sakupwanya-bankrolled outfit.
Triangle United FC, on the other hand, have been quiet in the transfer market. They have retained their technical team, led by Luke Masomere, and 18 players from their previous squad. Midfielder Prince Ndiripo will be one to watch.
Title contenders clash
Defending champions Simba Bhora FC face a stern test against FC Platinum on Saturday at Wadzanayi Stadium. This match promises to be an exciting encounter between two title contenders. Simba will seek to revenge the defeat they suffered to the Platinum miners which brought an end to their lengthy unbeaten run at Wadzanayi Stadium last year.
