Tailender Richard Ngarava starred in unfamiliar territory, lifting Zimbabwe past the 200-run mark with a well-crafted 48 runs.
All-rounder Sikandar Raza’s bat and ball performance saw him score 39 and taking two wickets for seven runs.
Opener Tadiwanashe Marumani weighed in with 29 runs.
Seamer Blessing Muzarabani and spinner Sean Williams both picked two wickets as well to restrict Pakistan to 60/6 after 21 overs when rain stopped play.
The second ODI saw a repeat of the host’s batting woes and with the absence of a late innings bloomer Zimbabwe were bundled out for a meagre 145 in 32.3 overs.
Dion Myers (33), Williams (31) and skipper Craig Ervine (18) all had stats but did not convert.
