DYNAMOS are targeting two strikers from West Africa in a bid to solve the goal scoring crisis that has bedevilled their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign.
The title-chasing giants have had a difficult season this far as they sit sixth on the log table with 24 points after 18 rounds of matches.
They are 14 points behind log leaders FC Platinum, with 16 matches remaining.
Coach Genesis Mangombe admitted his team was in the market for new players, particularly those that play in forward positions.
The underfire coach has often complained about his misfiring strikeforce, which he blames for the team’s awful campaign.
Ghanaian Emmanuel Paga is the club’s top goal scorer with three goals in 18 matches.
Mangombe revealed yesterday that the Harare giants were looking to import strikers to deal with the crisis.
The two strikers from West Africa are expected in the country anytime soon for trials.

“We are waiting for some players who are coming in for trials. We don’t know them as yet. Of course, we have seen some videos of them, but we want them on the ground so that we can assess if they can match our system and understand our philosophy,” Mangombe said at his weekly Press conference yesterday ahead of the team’s tough trip to Hwange on Sunday.
“One is a striker from Ghana and the other one is from Cameroon. We are expecting them anytime soon.”
Dynamos make the long trip on the back of a demoralising 2-0 home loss to Highlanders at the weekend, a defeat Mangombe blamed on a players’ strike that rocked his camp in the run-up to the crunch tie.
Normalcy has since returned to the camp after the players were paid their outstanding bonuses.
“I’m happy that we have resumed full training and everyone is raring to go,” Mangombe said.
“We also have a minimal number of suspensions and injuries. We have a wide pool of selection for this game.”
Defender Donald Dzvinyai is out of the match through suspension, while Frank Alick will also miss the trip due to an injury.
“We are coming from a defeat, so the boys want to make it a point that we collect maximum points.”
The reverse fixture ended in a 2-all draw after Hwange came from two goals down to snatch a point at Barbourfields earlier in the season.
“Hwange held us at Barbourfields, so we have to win this one. We don’t have any excuse not to. We just need to get maximum points,” Mangombe said.
Dynamos have been bad travellers this term, winning just twice in their seven matches outside Harare a 1-0 win over Bikita Minerals and the abandoned game against Chegutu Pirates, which they were awarded on a 3-0 scoreline.
On the road, they lost to Highlanders, FC Platinum and Simba Bhora, while drawing against Chicken Inn and Manica Diamonds.
“We are lacking consistency, but it’s mainly caused by our poor finishing in front of goal. We need to improve on that because we are creating a lot of chances in each and every game we play,” The Glamour Boys mentor said.
“Even on the days we play badly, we still create good chances. So at the end of the day, if you fail to score, you are bound to face a lot of problems. We are trying to improve our finishing everyday and I’m sure that we are going to get it right starting this next game.”
