Zimbabwe professional golfer Kieran Vincent has spoken highly of the just-ended 2024 edition of the FBC Zim Open which concluded at Royal Harare Golf Club on Sunday.
South African golfer Michael Hollick emerged the winner after finishing the tournament on 20 — under par after rounds of 66 67 68 and 67.
Hollick was two shots ahead of former champion Darren Fichardt on 18 — under after four rounds while Zimbabwean golfer Kieran was third on 14 — under.
Kieran tied for fourth place on overall 12 — under along with Swede Fredrik From and Ben Follett-Smith ensuring three Zimbabweans in top six on 11 — under.
The younger of the two Vincent siblings was impressed with the Zimbabwe Open after making a second consecutive appearance as a professional golfer.
“There are a lot of people who have not been here like my daddy it was his first time and we have been talking about this event for a long time and I think it has lived up to expectation if not exceeded them,” Kieran said.
“A lot of the other guys enjoyed it, everyone even the South Africans I played with this week, said that this is one of their favourite tournaments on the Sunshine Tour. It's obviously a special event and I am glad that we were able to post some good scores and played well as we did," he added.
Kieran and his brother Scott play in the money-spinning LIV Golf League and donned the regalia of their respective teams Legion VIII and Iron Heads GC during the Zim Open.

The 26-year-old Kieran was full of praise for his older brother who finished third in the tournament while he expressed the desire for the duo to come back next year
“He is obviously a good golfer. He has been playing very well for a long time and I actually thought he was going to win it (Zim Open) today. But there is obviously some wins for him in the future and I am excited for him to get that close to winning the Zim Open,.
"If it all lines up schedule wise we would like to come back. I love this event I love being in front of family and friends.
“Any tournament you would love to win but this one is extra special because its a home one," he said.
Nine Zimbabwean players including Robson Chinhoi, Pride Sembo, Mohammad Mandhu, Stuart Krog, Biggie Chibvuri, amateur Matthew Bramford, the Vincent brothers and Follett-Smith.
A total of 144 players from at least 10 different countries took part in the event which was sponsored to the tune of US$200 000 by FBC Holdings Group.
