FORMER Ngezi Platinum Stars winger Blessing Sahondo walked away with the Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Soccer League bragging rights after he was voted the 2023 Soccer Star of the Year.

The speedy winger was outstanding during the 2023 season where he helped TelOne FC win the promotion ticket.

He scored 11 goals, missing the golden boot award which was won by his teammate, Blessing Sibanda.

"This is big for me. I worked for it and hopefully, it's the beginning of more awards. I give credit to the team as always," Sahondo said.

"They worked hard to help me achieve everything that I did. I hope we will be able to achieve more. We are still working to make sure we don't just add numbers in the PSL."

Simon Shanga of Tongogara and Sibanda were voted as the first and second runner up respectively.

Sahondo headlines the list, which also includes Aubrey Nyandoro of ZPC Munyati and Blessing Sibanda of TelOne FC.

The trio of Nelson Chikora, Marshall Mugaviri and Simon Shanga of Tongogara are part of the list as well as Phillip Chamunorwa of Chapungu.

ZPC Munyati's Boniface Ziberu, Trymore Kawerere of FC Platinum U19,  Munashe Bamara of Dulibadzimu Utd and Tanaka Zingwe of MSU completed the list.

Tongogara head coach Calvin Maphosa was voted as the Coach of the Year, beating TelOne's Tendai Chikuni. Maphosa and the army side were the runners up in the league.

Blessing Sibanda won the golden boot after scoring 12 goals.
