ZIMBABWE left Namibia off the hook with the hosts registering a seven-wicket win in the penultimate T20I in Windhoek to set up a winners take-all finale on Tuesday.
The Chevrons, starring with a series win in yesterday's match, blew away the opportunity when they set a below par score, 153/6 in their 20 overs.
Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine led from the front with an unbeaten 54 runs off 43 balls but it was no enough to see the team through to a defendable target given that man-of-the-moment, Sikandar Raza with two back-to-back half centuries switched off and was sent back to the pavilion for just two runs. Opener Tinashe Kamunhukamwe added 32 runs. Fellow opener, Innocent Kaia scored 15, Ryan Burl contributed 13 while Faraz Akram, 10 not out completed the list of players who managed double figures with the bat.
Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus picked two wickets for 21 runs from four overs. He also scored 31 runs unbeaten to be awarded player-of-the-match gong. Handre Klazinge also picked two wickets for the hosts.
The home side reached 154/3 in 18.4 overs with their opening pair of Michael van Lingen and Nikolaas Davin scoring 47 and 34 runs respectively.
Jan Frylinck chipped in with 29 runs while Burl picked two wickets for 22 runs in four hours. Tendai Chatara picked one wicket.
