CHAMPIONS FC Platinum have robbed the Ngezi Platinum Stars camp of their highly-rated coach Alexio Sigion who they have appointed to take charge of their developmental team.
Sigion was part of the Ngezi Platinum set-up for the last two years albeit as the Under-19 coach under the club’s former head coach Clifton Kadurira.
The former Shabanie Mine gaffer will be head coach of the FC Platinum Under-19 which competes in the second tier Ruvimbo Assurance Central Region Soccer League. He will be assisted by Moses Mwafulirwa.
While other clubs have focused on signing players, FC Platinum have prioritised reinforcing the club's technical acumen.
Sigion was unveiled yesterday, and is the second coach to join the Zvishavane club following the recent appointment of Sithethelwe Sibanda popularly known as Kwinji 15, to lead the club's women senior team, Platinum Royals.
The FC Platinum leadership has emphasized that all their efforts are aimed at the club's future on the African safari.
This follows Caf's declaration that all clubs participating in continental tournaments must have female teams.
Although they are not participating due to the Fifa ban, FC Platinum have not stopped preparing.

In welcoming Sigion, club general manager Denzel Mkandla expressed confidence in the youthful coach.
"We lured him to join us because of his experience. He has coached in the PSL. He coached Shabanie Mine. He is here because we are looking at having more juniors in our senior team. We are happy to have him as part of our team. As a club we are confident that he will add more to what we are trying to do as a club," Mkandla said.
Over the last two season, FC Platinum have thrived on junior players that they promoted, among them Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, Panashe Mutimbanyoka, Kelvin Mangiza and Hagiazo Magaya who were instrumental in helping them win their fourth successive domestic premiership title.
