HOSTS Zimbabwe and West Indies managed to get just over a session’s play on the second day of their first Test after rains delayed play.
The visitors resumed on 112 for no loss after losing a big chunk of the day’s play due to rains.
West Indies openers Kraigg Braithwaite and Tegenarine Chanderpaul celebrated centuries, with the tourists ending the day on 221 for no loss.
Braithwaite was the first to reach the milestone before Chanderpaul raised his bat for the first time in this format.
The West Indies skipper scored 116 from 246 balls in a patient knock that featured seven boundaries.
Meanwhile, Chanderpaul was on 101 not out after using up 291 balls, where he hit 10 boundaries and a single maximum.
Zimbabwe bowlers toiled on a day they were given just 38 overs after morning showers forced a delayed start.
The match only resumed at 3pm after a couple of inspections by the umpires.

On the previous day, only 51 overs had been bowled before rains intervened to force early stumps.
Spinner Wellington Masakadza said that they are pleased with the way they bowled over the first two days of the Test match.
“We have managed to control the game, we have been a bit unlucky not to pick up wicket, but as the game progresses there will be something for the bowlers on this wicket, Queens Sports Club is like that. But tomorrow we will have to come up with new plan and see if they are gonna work,” Masakadza said.
“We will obviously sit down and try to come up with different strategies. I think we have bowled well in these two days we just have to continue doing that, if we can get one wicket am sure it can bring a few more.”
Play is expected to resume at 9:30 this morning, if the weather holds up as is expected.
