Process, patience, trust and time

The moment one is saved, a journey of reading through the whole Bible should begin.

CHRISTIANITY’S set book is the Bible.

Almost every believer believes that the Word of God is potent.

It produces results in the lives of those who take heed of it.

The moment one is saved, a journey of reading through the whole Bible should begin.

Regrettably some never read through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation all their saved life.

Some even have Bibles with additional books as though they have finished the ones originally canonised.

We know that some are immediately told that the Bible is stale.

They are misled that their particular cult hears directly from God and thus no need for the Bible which is deemed dated.

All sincere believers know that the Bible contains the voice of God.

In reading the Bible, we hear the Spirit of God.

Any spirit that contradicts the Bible is Antichrist.

We have a very high literacy rate in Zimbabwe and, therefore, the culture of reading has to be cherished, promoted and encouraged.

There are church goers who shun reading the Bible but when a call for prayer and fasting is made, they quickly jump onto it.

These are tossed around because they see the things of God as difficult.

The Bible is there for us to read to understand the mysteries of God.

I agree that there is a place for prayer, fasting and giving just as there’s a place for Bible study.

Jumping to pray and fast with no Word is dangerous.

Some are not settled and when waves happen in Christendom, they quickly jump onto heretical bandwagons.

They run all over the show for so called deliverance and other illusions.

God cried out in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”

Seek knowledge and understanding.

At the beginning of the year as I do every year, I exhorted us to start reading through the Bible.

Some have gone half way through which is good whereas some are reading for the second time and even more.

The Bible contains life and power according to Hebrews 4:12, New King James Version, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

We were brought to life by this word through salvation.

Christianity is not trial and error. It’s not guesswork.

I believe in miracles but don’t forget that miracles are not exclusive to Christianity.

In the Christian faith, we need to understand that when God suspends time for a reason to favour us, we should use the miraculous to bridge the gap and continue the path of the Christian walk and the journey of spiritual growth.

What do I mean? Miracles are suspension of time or overriding of the natural.

That’s why it’s supernatural. Let’s dig deeper.

In talking about advancement, overcoming and overtaking of the Kingdom of God, Jesus used the parable of the growing seed in Mark 4:26-29.

We read Mark 4:26-27, “[26] And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; [27] And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.”

Reading the whole parable gives us an understanding of the processes and times of the eternal God.

We are taught to be patient and trust in God.

As long as the seed is put to the ground, we should go to bed and wake up tomorrow and continue tending the fields.

The growth process will take place by dive ordination.

You can stay in the maize field day and night to see the growth but with your naked eyes, you won’t be able to fathom it.

The maize will get to harvest in your glare and amusement.

For us to actualise and manifest the Kingdom of God in our spirit, soul and life we need to keep planting the seed everyday. What is this seed?

Jesus tells us in Luke 8:11, “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.”

Yes, the church needs resources to function.

It needs money, vehicles, houses and other resources but these are not the seed. The Seed is the Word of God.

Some have sowed material possessions and neglected reading the Word and have harvested wind.

I believe in prophecy. Let me tell you that the reason why some are travelling all over the world looking for prophecy as though they are looking for witch doctors is that they are not getting clear prophecy in the Bible.

Grab your Bible, it’s full of prophecy for you.

While I’m not saying God is going to stop miracles and showing Himself strong in your life, I’m challenging you to go through the whole Bible before the year ends.

Let’s talk after that about that issue that has troubled you for long.

It can be sickness or any affliction. With God’s personal voice to you in the Bible, your story will be different.

Grab your Bible. As you read, without you noticing or experiencing anything, the Spirit of God will be working out effectively in you.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.
