The Bible is Christ's book and Christ is salvation. We read in Luke 2:25-26, 30, "[25] And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. [26] And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. [30] For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,"
I have quoted the three verses to give context to verse 30 that clearly states that Christ is salvation. He's also the Grace of God. We can support, Titus 2:11, "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men," Of the 66 books (Genesis to Revelation) of the Bible, it opens with salvation of humanity and runs this thread to the end.
In types, figures and shadow, we read in Genesis 1:2-3, "[2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. [3] And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."
This light was not the sun, moon and stars created on the fourth day. John comes to our rescue. In a discourse referring the Word to Jesus, the part reads, John 1:4-5, "[4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." That's how powerful a born again believer is. The devil cannot make head or tail about you. He just can't understand you, fear not. Be bold and fearless and he will be afraid of you.
We have seen light and darkness. Light refers to the saved or born again believer and the Kingdom of God and darkness to the unsaved person in the kingdom of darkness. Ephesians 5:8 settles the matter, "For ye were sometimes [once] darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:" Please allow me to emphasise, we were darkness as in Genesis 1:2-3 before we heard and accepted the Gospel of Christ. Since we're now saved, we're light.
Let us buttress it further with Colossians 1:12-13, "[12] Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: [13] Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:" We can cement further with 2 Corinthians 4:3-4, "[3] But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: [4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
We're stressing the difference between light and darkness in biblical salvation. 1 Peter 2:9 states, "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" We read 2 Corinthians 4:6, "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." That's the climax of God's work of salvation.
Many times when we read and study the Bible without the context of the whole Bible, we stumble and misquote the Bible and preach error and heresy. In the shadow, the following chapter is so much misused for carnal preaching. Please read the whole chapter, I will quote briefly, Isaiah 60:1-3, "[1] Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. [2] For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. [3] And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising." This is salvation.

Study the Bible please to be better equipped for Christian Apologetics. The word of truth has to be rightly divided. Apostle Paul teaches his spiritual son in 2 Timothy 2:15, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Please rightly divide Psalm 27:1, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.
