Suspected thief kills partner in crime

A 36-year-old from Harare’s Mbare suburb allegedly killing his partner in crime  during a robbery.

John Chivasa appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi who remanded him in custody.

He was advised to approach the High Court for bail.

Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi said on August 9, Chivasa and his accomplice Nyasha Kandawasvika and the deceased Prosper Dumba confronted an unidentified man intending to rob him of his cellphone.

The court heard that the victim resisted the attack, and when Chivasa  produced a knife with intention  to stab him he accidentally stabbed Dumba on his chest.

The victim managed to flee during the commotion.

Chivasa took the now deceased to his place of residence.

Dumba was rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital by his younger brother where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
