A 25 year man employed as a herd boy at Bravo Farm in Figtree appeared in court last week facing charges of stock theft.
The suspect, Milton Moyo, appeared before Plumtree Magistrate Joshua Nembaware and was remanded to May 7.
The complainants Kotamani Ndlovu (36), Zamani Nkomo (24) and Mbonisi Ndlovu (27) are all from Figtree.
The court was told that on April 19, Moyo was seen driving five beasts past Brooklyn Farm, which also serves as a resettlement area.
He allegedly told Brooklyn farm manager, Sipho Nxongo, that he was lost and was driving the five beasts to Bravo Farm where he is employed.
Nxongo was not satisfied with Moyo’s statement and alerted neighbouring farmers.
Leighwoods farm chairperson Rayton Sibanda identified the five beasts as belonging to the three complainants.
Moyo was handed over to the police for stock theft.
