Independence Day trouble causers warned

Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko

POLICE in the Midlands province have issued a stern warning to trouble causers ahead of  the Independence Day celebrations set for Nembudziya in Gokwe North.

The celebrations will coincide with the Easter holiday.

Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said police were on high alert.

“We urge all the citizens to be responsible during this holiday season and we warn our drivers to follow road laws so that loss of life due to accidents can be reduced,” he said.

Mahoko gave security tips to communities to avoid falling victim to robbers, petty thieves and burglars.

“All residential areas should have someone present at all times, they should ensure their doors are locked while windows are closed,” he said.

“When going away for some days, one should approach the nearest police station for protection of their property and the service is offered free of charge.”

Mahoko urged citizens to continue sharing information that exposes criminal activities in their areas.
