
Two suspected robbers are languishing in remand prison after they were arrested on charges of waylaying a Plumtree man whom they robbed of his cellphone after attacking him with wooden logs.
The suspects Mthabiseni Ncube (21) and Vincent Mlilo (19) appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing a robbery charge.
The duo was remanded in custody to April 14.
Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa alleged that on March 27 the complainant, Mike Tyson Ncube, was in a shop when the two suspects pounced on him.
They started attacking him with open hands and wooden logs before robbing him of his money and cell phone.
The complainant was injured and rushed to hospital where he was treated and discharged.
