A 24-YEAR-OLD Gwanda man was sentenced to 15 years in jail for sodomising his colleague.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the man appeared at the Gwanda Magistrates Court on charges of aggravated indecent assault.
It was proven in court that on January 24 in Guyu, the accused sodomised the complainant, a 25-year-old male, while he was asleep.
The events leading up to the assault began in December 2024, when the offender approached the complainant, claiming someone was trying to bewitch him and offered to assist him with “prayers” to help resolve the issue.
On January 24, 2025, the offender visited the complainant’s residence late at night, rubbed oil on his stomach and back, and both fell asleep.
The complainant woke up to find out that he had been sodomised.
He confronted the offender, who warned him not to tell anyone. The complainant informed his parents, who advised him to report the incident to the police leading to his arrest.
