ZANU PF’S ward 1 councillor in Bulawayo Josiah Mutangi has been further remanded in custody in a case of fraud.
Mutangi is jointly charged with Janet Zhou.
They face 14 counts of fraud after they sold space to vendors and failed to deliver.
Zhou (44) and Mutangi (49) appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Shepherd Munjanja to answer to a charge of fraud.
They were remanded out of custody to March 13.
The State applied for further remand saying it was waiting for a video footage that will be presented in court as evidence.
“Come back to court on March 13 for further management,” said Munjanja.
The court was told that last February, Zhou and Mutangi at corner 5th Avenue and Herbert Chitepo Street in Bulawayo demanded US$200 from to Chishamiso Chihota and 13 others so that they allocate the vending bays.
