Man fatally assaulted over sex worker

A 36-YEAR-OLD man was fatally assaulted in a quarrel over a sex worker in Driefontein, the Midlands province, last weekend.

Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the tragic incident.

“A misunderstanding arose over a lady of the night between the deceased and Marshal Shiri (33) of Nyumbi 1 Village, Driefontein. Shiri took a log and struck Casper Mhari three times on the head,” Mahoko said.

“Mhari fell down and became unconscious. He was rushed to Muonde Hospital, where he died.

“The now-deceased had been drinking beer at Mandipezano homestead, Driefontein area in the company of Evans Shonhiwa aged 36 of Chaka, Chirumhanzu.”
