The Kwekwe messenger of court has rubbished claims that he attached property belonging to two people over some outstanding payments without following proper procedures.
Piscilla Bushe and Florence Ngoreta lodged complaints with the Judicial Services Commission, chief magistrate in Harare, resident and provincial magistrates in Kwekwe citing unfair conduct after their property was attached.
Energy Pedzera, the Kwekwe messenger of court, said the victims had themselves to blame.
“Ngoreta was subletted the house by a tenant of the plaintiff and as such was paying rentals and the tenant converting the money to his personal use,” Pedzera said.
“On the Bushe case, I think its self-explanatory that she wilfully defaulted and did not even bother to stay the execution.
“The auction was conducted in terms of the law....”
Bushe and Ngoreta had claimed to have lodged the complaints through the Anti-Corruption Trust of Southern Africa (ACTSA).
However, Pedzera said: “I am perplexed as to where these victims lodged their complaints because this ACTSA has no office in Kwekwe and the office they write to on the letterhead were evicted two years ago after they failed to pay rentals.”
