YOUTH Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training minister, Tinoda Machakaire, has bemoaned the poor state of the country’s health sector after he lost one of his drivers at a public hospital
NewsDay is reliably informed that the driver could not be attended to on time by health workers because of lack of needed medical supplies.
The late Brigadier-General Victor Chikudo Rungani also lost his life recently due to lack of ventilators at three hospitals he visited.
Rungani died at the age of 76 at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Waterfalls, Harare last week following a brief illness.
He was buried at the National Heroes Acre after he was declared a national hero.
Machakaire expressed concern over the state of the country’s health sector and appealed for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s intervention.
"The growing public outcry over our healthcare system is not an exaggeration; it reflects the difficult experiences of many citizens," Machakaire posted on X
"Your Excellency, you have earned the admiration of this nation for your compassion, humility and tireless dedication to the welfare of ordinary citizens.
