Court delays ruling on journalist Mhlanga's case

On April 30, the defence will receive the State papers and a trial date will be set.

HARARE, April 22 (NewsDay Live) - Heart & Soul TV head of news Blessed Mhlanga’s case has been postponed to April 30, 2025, a delay caused by the absence of a key witness' statement.

The State assured the court that investigations would have been completed by the next hearing date.

On April 30, the defence will receive the State papers and a trial date will be set.

Mhlanga was arrested in February and charged with incitement to violence after he interviewed Blessed "Bombshell" Geza, a war veteran critical of the ED2030 agenda, which aims to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa's term by two years to 2030.

Police are seeking Geza, who is believed to be in hiding, for questioning over a litany of charges that include incitement to commit public violence, undermining the authority of the President and alleged theft of three vehicles.
