A 43-YEAR-OLD Kuwadzana man has been arraigned before Harare magistrate Rufaro Panavanhu, facing allegations of murder after he allegedly killed his friend following a dispute during a beer drinking spree.
Terrence Rupiya was remanded in custody to April 25 after being advised to apply for bail at the High Court since he is facing serious allegations.
It is the State's case that on April 17 this year, Rupiya met his friend Moran Kumire, who was in the company of one Mazvari Arnold, at a shebeen in Kuwadzana 7, Harare.
The three reportedly drank beer together and they ran out of money.
The court heard that Rupiya said he would collect money from his house, where he was accompanied by Mazvari.
After the two left, Kumire reportedly followed them and on arrival at the accused's place, he entered Rupiya's room. A disagreement reportedly ensued over why Rupiya had disappeared with the deceased's friend who was buying beer.
It is alleged that Kumire was accusing his friend of snatching Mazvari, who was buying beer.
The court heard that the two exchanged harsh words and Rupiya ordered Kumire to leave his room.
