ZIMBABWE is seeking agricultural marketing opportunities in Türkiye while also learning that country’s smart agriculture adopted in response to climate change shocks.
This was said by Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural Development minister Anxious Masuka, who is leading a delegation to Türkiye’s 21st Konya Agriculture, Mechanisation and Field Technologies Fair.
The Konya Fair is being held under the theme Improving Agricultural Productivity Under Scarce Water Resources Through South-South and Triangular Co-operation.
The fair brings together industry leaders, professionals and innovators to discuss advancements in agricultural technology and mechanisation.
“Climate-smart agriculture, powered by cutting-edge technologies, has become an essential solution for farmers worldwide,” Masuka told journalists on Wednesday.
Masuka emphasised the importance of smart farming practices, precision agriculture and sustainability-driven solutions.
“Zimbabwe is positioning itself as a leader in agricultural innovation, supported by a strong foundation in rural industrialisation and development,” he said.
Government has introduced the Agriculture, Food Systems and Rural Transformation Strategy, which aims to enhance resilience in agriculture and ensure food security.
