
HARARE, April. 1 (NewsDay Live) - Leader of the Johanne The Fifth of Africa Church, Archbishop Andby Makururu has applauded Zimbabweans for maintaining peace during Monday's protests called by outspoken war veteran Blessed “Bombshell” Geza.
The protests were meant to express the citizens’ frustrations with President Emmerson Mnangagwa's alleged misgovernance.
In recent posts on his social media handles, Geza called for countrywide protests against Mnangagwa and called on him to resign.
Several people in Harare turned up for the protests, but many chose to stay away.
Makururu on Tuesday, applauded Zimbabweans for maintaining peace.
“I want to thank God and the people of Zimbabwe for maintaining peace,” he said.
“It was expect that people were going to lose their lives, but we did not record any deaths. That is the work of God, indeed.”
