A noctorious Zanu PF chairman Kelvin Gonzo was yesterday convicted at Mbare magistrates court for unauthorized barrowing of a shotgun from a security guard at of Livre Investments company owned by the late former Zanu PF Mwenezi East Constituency Member of Parliament and Provisional Hero Joosbi Omar.
Gonzo who is the Zanu PF District Chairman for Chinx Chingaira Branch in Granery Zvimba East Constituency was initially facing charges of theft of gun however he was convicted for unauthorized barrowing of a gun.
During trial State called the complainant Allen Billy as their witness, who is employed by Livre Investments company as security guard .
Billy testified that he was working peacefully together with his colleagues at Pamusasa Wakatemwa when the Gonzo eventually appeared with a large group of youths that he momentarily addressed first at some distance away.
The court heard that the mob confronted Billy and his colleaugues ordering them to stop their work and leave the scene.
Billy said they refused to move away leading Gonzo and his mob to physically assualt him.
The complainant told the court that he was ambushed from behind by one Manjoro in what appears to have been a carefully preplaned move, he was forced to lay down on the ground while he was physically assaulted.
According to State witness Gonzo, acted in common purpose with his mob to forcefully grab the gun which Billy had together with his accomplices and abruptly left the scene heading towards Lake Chivero direction . The witness said Gonzo only appeared at White house police station about 30 minutes later after a report of a stolen gun had been made against him.

Billy told the court that Gonzo had stolen this gun from him and he had no lawful right to do what he did.
He told the court that Flona Nikla recorded a video of the commission of the offence by the convicted Zanu PF chairman .
In his cross examination Billy vehemently denied and disputed Gonzo's averments that he pointed the gun at him or anyone and no one’s life was under any threat.
In denying the charge, Gonzo said they never committed the offence as alleged by the state .
He will stated that on the June 21 , 2024 at Granary phase 3 Zvimba there was a misunderstanding between the youths and Billy who is the security guard .
Gonzo denied the charges saying one of the security guard took out a greener and pointed at him and other Zanu PF youths.
Gonzo in denying the offence he said he grabbed the firearm to ensure that Billy would not use it against anyone and with intention to use gun as evidence against the guard at the police station and the court
Circumstances are on June 21 in 2024 , the complainant Allen Billy was manning Livre Investments property in Grenary ,Zvimba .
State was alleging that Gonzo suddenly arrived with a mob of youth and confronted Billy ordering him to leave the area.
The court heard that Billy refused to leave the premise and was severely attacked by Gonzo and his mob who later stole his greener marker shortgun with serial number 6898.
